Having periods, also known as ‘menstruating’  is a normal part of life for around half of the population. Menstruation prepares our bodies for the possibility of nurturing a new life. Whether or not this is something we wish, or will go on to do, there is power in this. However, periods can also cause pain and other symptoms such as bloating or acne.

To feel the power of menstruation while managing its symptoms, we need to know how to look after our menstrual health. What about me®? provides you with the information you need to do just that.

It’s usual for menstruation to cause some discomfort, and this can affect all aspects of a person’s health and wellbeing. About 1 in 4 people’s period symptoms cause them distress, preventing them from getting out and doing the things they want and need to do. When this happens, it could be a sign of an underlying condition, like endometriosis, often called ‘endo’.

Knowledge is power. The more we know, the better we can look after ourselves and support the people we care about.
